Margaret Manning stands out from the crowd with three Stevie nominations

02/11/2009 - Manchester

Female Entrepreneur of the Year and Reading Room CEO, Margaret Manning's entrepreneurial skills have once again been recognised, becoming one of only three people nominated across three separate categories at the upcoming Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

The awards honour female executives, entrepreneurs, and their companies across the world, and are widely regarded as the world's premier business awards - with over 1,100 successful females entering this year alone.

Manning will be vying for the top spot in three categories: Best Entrepreneur for service businesses up to 2,500 employees; Women Helping Women, an award that recognises individuals who support and contribute to the development of women in business; and Best Entrepreneur in EMEA - a category where Manning is one of only two nominations. Each nomination is a testament to Manning's entrepreneurial prowess and dedication to supporting and developing women in business.

Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging. Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staff will select Stevie Award winners, with winners announced during a gala event at the Marriot Marquis hotel, New York, on Friday 13th November.

From a 'back bedroom' genesis in 1996 with a staff of just two and no financial backing, Manning has steered Reading Room to its current position as the UK's third top digital agency (Design Week Top 100), and a global Top Ten digital agency (Interactive Media Awards). On hearing the nominations, Manning commented: "Reading Room has enjoyed phenomenal growth in the last few years and I am absolutely thrilled with this recognition."

President of the Stevie Awards, Michael Gallagher, cites being named as a finalist in The Stevie Awards for Women in Business as an important achievement, "It means that independent business executives have agreed that the nominee is worthy of recognition," Gallagher said, "We congratulate all of the finalists on their achievement and wish them well in the competition."
