West Yorkshire Police

West Yorkshire Police required a new streamlined site which allowed for easy updating of different areas by neighbourhood policing teams, press officers, divisional teams and the regional office. We provided a Drupal content management system and a fresh new design with a much more intuitive navigation.The site allows for easy updating of regional maps and connects with a variety of back end systems. Visitors can subscribe for updates or newsletters and there are a number of contact forms from Lost Property to reporting a crime. In addition the public can access pictures and videos of suspects or witnesses that they might recognise.

Eureka! Play 20

Eureka! The National Children’s Museum came to Reading Room looking for a vibrant and user-friendly Microsite for their Play 20 campaign. The campaign has been set up to celebrate 20 years of Eureka! and aims to provide Play ideas for time-poor parents. Reading Room worked closely with Eureka! to create a design that would appeal to a wide range of parents and effortlessly take them to the engaging content. An important feature of the Play 20 campaign was social sharing, which has been widely taken up with people sharing their favourite ideas across Facebook and Twitter.

Commonwealth War Graves Commission

The Commonwealth War Graves were looking to redesign their website and support it with an intuitive content management system which would allow their editors to easily manage and update content. Central to the project was the redevelopment of the website’s search function, allowing cemetery and casualty records to be retrieved from millions of records using a variety of criteria, wildcard searches and suggestions. We created a bright new design to bring warmth and personality to the site and encourage engagement with a younger audience. A redeveloped navigation makes content easier to find and the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive.

NES Global Talent

NES Global Talent are one of the world's leading specialist oil and gas recruiters. They came to Reading Room looking for a new website to showcase their new brand identity. We designed and developed a new website that brought the brand to life and optimised the way that users search for jobs. In the competitive job search market, Reading Room also worked with NES to ensure that they are easily found in search engines by implementing best practice SEO techniques.

Edge Hill University – Every Child Counts (ECC)

The ECC team engaged Reading Room to redesign and redevelop their existing programme website. Due to huge ongoing success and great results the programme needed to take a more standalone, commercial approach and needed its own online identity as well as highly engaging site to attract new clients to the programme. Reading Room answered the brief by showcasing the results of the programme with a counter displaying the number of children assisted by the programme. This together with a warmer tone, friendly and engaging designs and the new site presented this fantastic child assistance programme in a whole new way.

Sportscoach UK

UK Sporting Charity Sports Coach UK were looking to redesign and develop their existing website. Reading Room were initially engaged to provide user testing, research, design and prototype build with accompanying documentation. However, upon completion of the initial project, Reading Room were also successful in bidding for the build and delivery phase of the project. The project included a full range of internal and external requirements gathering and user testing, including one to one interviews and remote testing, which led to a highly evolved and user-targeted navigational structure. We implemented the Drupal CMS to give Sports Coach UK the best balance of functionality whilst remaining cost effective. 

International Anthony Burgess Foundation

Following their arrival in Manchester, the Anthony Burgess Foundation were at a creative cross roads. They wanted and needed a new brand, but new that it had to start with their digital presence online as this was going to be the most cost effective way for them to  gain support, generate visitors and market themselves to their audience. We worked very closely the small team at the foundation to create a strong, icon brand and and online presence that reflected the unique character of Anthony Burgess himself. Following a highly involved and enjoyable creative process Reading Room used the agreed design to build an easy to use, accessible but beautiful site and integrated Wordpress as a content management system.

John Rylands First Impressions

The John Rylands embarked on a hugely exciting project to tell our nations readers and lovers of literature, the fascinating story of the printed word. To reflect the hugely impactful subject the team wanted a website that stood out with beautiful design and functionality to engage users. To answer the brief Reading Room built a highly interactive site with a moving graphical map and timeline, ‘make your own printers mark’ and see ‘text through time’ features. The interactive features allowed people of ages to engage with the story benefits from the hugely significant cultural story being told through the site.

People’s History Museum

The new museum, now double in size, had a new brand identity and truly unique logo developed to fully reflect the new, younger and more outspoken brand. We innovatively designed and created pages surrounded by brand interruptions but without a single compromise to usability or accessibility. We put the museum’s iconic photography at the heart of our designs. Our designers immersed themselves in a huge analogue collection of images and undertook a selective digital archiving process, to create a raft of imagery on which to base the site and truly bring it to life, grasping viewers at one glance. The website was ready ahead of schedule ready for the museum’s ‘soft’ re-opening, the client was over the moon with the site, and initial user feedback was very positive.
